SteelSoft TV

If you already bought a computer and you have it hooked up to the internet, you can forget about getting cable and buying a TV. That’s because there are applications out there that let you watch TV online. Such an application is SteelSoft TV which provides easy access to more than 300 free online TV channels, from the US and several other countries.

You will find the SteelSoft TV installation file inside a 2.6MB archive that will take little time to download. A setup wizard will help you get SteelSoft TV up and running once you run the aforementioned setup file. Just in case you need it, there’s a Read Me file inside the archive that explains how to install and how to use SteelSoft TV. And speaking about that, you can use the application on a PC powered by XP, Vista, or Windows 7.

The SteelSoft TV interface looks like a computer monitor. To the left there’s the image of a monitor, to the right there’s a pane that presents all the available channels. By default, the channels are presented in categories, like Entertainment, Lifestyle, and Sports. TV channels relevant to that category can be accessed by clicking the category’s name. Once you click on a channel’s name, that channel will start to play in the window to the left that looks like a monitor. If you don’t like the default category view, you can hit the start button and the channels will be listed by name.

All the TV channels that SteelSoft TV presents are from various countries. There’s a drop down menu that lets you select one of the many countries in the list.

You can view just one channel if that is what you want, or you can view multiple channels at the same time - SteelSoft TV has picture-in-picture functionality to offer.

When you right click a station’s name, the options to Play, Preview, and Add to Favorites show up. As you browse the list of channels SteelSoft TV provides access to, you can add the ones you like to the Favorites list. All the channels you’ve added as favorite are listed in the Favorites tab.

There’s no need for cable, a TV, or a TV tuner card to watch TV, not when SteelSoft TV provides easy access to a long list of free online TV channels.
